Food Friday... Warm Weather Coming...

and I'm ready to eat lots and lots of salad! I love salad, but I have to admit they need a good dressing. If I have to go way low fat/low cal- it ruins the entire meal. Here are a few different salads I'm craving right now. What do you love to eat in the summer?

How Refreshing...

A summer gourmet snow cone business! I think this would be a hit in my area! Fresher than Fresh Snow Cones are made using all natural syrups made from fresh fruit and herbs. A sample of their gourmet flavors:
LEMON PRICKLY PEAR
BLACKBERRY LAVENDER
LIME MINT
GREEN TEA PEAR
PINEAPPLE & SERRANO PEPPER
WATERMELON BASIL
ESPRESSO & MEXICAN CANE SUGAR

Don't they all sound so yummy! Now I must look for a trailer, learn to make unique flavor combinations, purchase a shaved ice machine and set-up shop! Ok, so I know I won't be able to open my own, but maybe they can open one here!

Food Friday... Jam

Have you made home made jam? I really want to try it out, but I hear it can be a little tricky. I know there are easier versions like freezer jam and mini microwave jam. I'm just not too sure about these alternate methods. Do you have a tried and true recipe or cooking method?
Martha Stewart Peach Rosemary Jam
Martha Stewart Quick Strawberry Jam
Just in case you have better things to do then try your hand at jam making... you can always order from the delicious looking Lemon Bird Handmade Jams! Check out their site for unique flavor combinations!

Wedding Inspiration No. 1

If I ever have the opportunity to renew my wedding vows, this wedding will serve as inspiration. I'm in love with every detail of this forest wedding. From the feather save the date, to the table settings and floral arrangements, the use of moss and wood, antique containers and flatware. Perfection I say- perfection!

Summer Dining

Well it looks like we are going to have one more weekend of winter weather before our spring/summer temps stay around. I can't wait to dine outdoors like this image below. I guess on a positive note I still need to redo my table top that got ruined through the winter months, redo my seat cushions (that I just recovered last spring) and hang outdoor lights. It's important to look on the positive side of things right? Is your outdoor space ready for summer entertaining?

Oh How Dreamy

I could do some serious dreaming, lounging and reading in this room. Every time I think I want to introduce color into my bedding, I'm reminded how much I love all white. This room is my new inspiration for a bedroom redo!
My apologies, I cannot remember where I found this image...

Make It Monday... Jewelry Frame

I've been wanting to create a frame to display my jewelry. I found these frames at Pottery Barn of all places and love the simplicity. Can you believe their frames range in price from $29 - $49 - Yikes! The junk store is calling my name for a frame and I already have the wire! I think I can pull off this project for no more than $5. Stay tuned for next Monday when I post pics of my DIY jewelry frame.

I'm also loving Modcloth's frame with the fabric insert... I might have to steal that idea.

Food Friday- Meyer Lemons!

Happy Friday! The weather here is going to be beautiful this weekend. Sooo looking forward to enjoying some time outdoors, and we are finally planting our garden. I also have plans to use the meyer lemons I picked up from Whole Foods yesterday. There are so many yummy looking recipes, I'm not sure which one to try. Do I want to try cupcakes, pound cake, curd, sorbet... I hate decisions! I also found a lemon thyme water recipes, and a preserved lemon recipe. I will definitely try these as they are simple and won't add to the waistline!

But, before I get to the lemon pics... here is a pic of my little man smilin'! Went to the doc yesterday- he is a whopping 11 pounds- just like mommy he loves to eat!
