It's All About the Pie!

Now, I'm not a pumpkin pie eater and maybe I never will be. But, I was looking at dessert recipes and came across these variations on the traditional pumpkin pie. I thought I would share with all of you, in case your wanting to try out something new this year- you know, jazz things up a bit with your dessert! I have to admit they all sound yummy! I do love pumpkin ice cream, so maybe- just maybe I would enjoy one of these!

What I'm Feeling Like Today

I'm feeling kinda lazy today. The weather here is getting ready to turn much cooler- and I must confess I LOVE it!

I want this worn leather chair and crackling fire to sit by...

and one of these lovely honeycomb throws
I've been meaning to pick up a copy of this book
and this cozy wrap

these comfy slipper boots
and top it all off with this cup of coffee!

Have a great day!

It's Time to Change Out the Candles!

I am all about seasonal scents, especially with candles! A couple of weeks back I was in Anthropology and came across a new line of candles that I absolutely adore... "Tatine". Have you smelled these candles??? They are wonderful. When I got home I looked up the company online and found out it is a small batch artisanal candle company in Chicago. Margo, the owner and one woman show works her booty off to make these lovely candles. What an awesome job she does- from the scent, to the container and packaging- perfection! What is even greater news is that she has three holiday scents that are part of the Holiday Garden and Forest Infusion line. I am on a mission to get one of each "Pine", "Pumpkin" and "Winterberry".
Here is an image of the Pine candle and the packaging... check out Margo's site, and her blog- it's quite inspiring to read of her success!

Have a wonderful day!

Food Friday!

Awhile back my sister gave me a Tyler Florence cookbook. Since then I have developed a love for Tyler! There hasn't been one bad recipe that I've tried - everything is yummy! These are some new pics from his blog. I must add them to my recipe book for future cooking, or I can just drool over the pictures!

Food Friday! The Caramel and Candy Apple- Yum!

It's Food Friday once again and I am craving a caramel apple. I have decided to make up a batch tomorrow, but am afraid of consuming them all, which is very - very possible. Right now my biggest dilemma is deciding on the toppings. I do like a basic caramel but I also love chocolate, pretzels, nuts, candy, etc. What to do, what to do?

Don't these look yummy- "Red Wine Caramel Apples" from Gourmet Magazine

or these Carmel and Candy Apples from Woman's Day

Country Livings Caramel Apples
Carmel Apples from Real Simple
Don't these just look sooooo good!
(If this photo belongs to you, please let me know. I can't seem to locate where I found it.)

Have a happy happy weekend and eat something yummy!
